Brahms, roses and a ribbon in my hair

Photos from summerhouse of the composer Brahms, white shingle and on a cliff, in case you were wondering. Rose garden. Last day today in Baden-Baden. Do not want to leave.

P.S. Can you spot the deer?

Leaving on a jet (car), don't know when I'll be back agaaain

Off to travel Europe by car for the rest of the summer. Don't know when I next get a chance to blog but hopefully it won't be long! Pictured above is my travel bag, with a very apt design for the occasion.

Ghosts and Bluebells

Bluebell woods around Pluckley, rumoured to be the most haunted village in England. I was haunted by nothing but their beauty.

Leeds Castle

I just realised that in my last post I sounded like I hated the National Trust (well, their staff anyway) and thought I'd put things right! While there have been occasions where I was baffled by the prejudiced (and sometimes outright rude) behaviour from staff, I must say on the whole Trusty did us well and provided some smashing days out over the years. Most recently, a very memorable visit was Leeds castle. I will let the photos do the talking. One thing I will say, though: in the right weather, it is a most perfect, tranquil spot that one must, if the opportunity arises, sprint to with open arms.

Ascott House

You may argue that 'Ascott House' is a misleading title, since there is not a house in sight in this post. While this may appear to be the case, the grounds of the house were far more deserving to be captured; especially since I don't care much for snooty National Trust ladies (really, is 4 to a room quite enough?!) whispering at me through their teeth to "not touch" (I didn't know you could 'touch' with your eyes!) and attempting to drill holes in me with their eyes. I'm far more flabbergasted by the great British countryside, and at Ascott the grounds filled with daffodils were a phenomenal sight. Oh wait, no daffodils pictured either. I rest my case.
