Effugium

The secret is out - (new year, no secretz) - well clocked, you. As demonstrated by my absent-minded lack of continuity in the shots above, I am, in fact, a closeted glasses wearer. I take them off for photographs everywhere always, yet IRL they rarely leave my nose. Whilst I cannot contend that glasses are wonderful things - they slide no matter how much they are tightened, and the specs-long eyelashes combo is a stellar contributor to the permanent Dutty Haze Visual Effect - despite all that, they are not something I resent. Besides... spending days working indoors, reading, jotting down lecture notes are all unavoidable in term-time, and all are ideal eyesight-burnout activities. Oh, and staring at a screen waiting for essays to materialise: comparable only to watching paint dry in levels of bliss.

I do not mean to provide a daunting sketch of "#unilyfe"; in the end, the above are only cause for "#fun" to be more saturated when it happens. Kicking one's glasses off every once in a while (metaphorically speaking) and taking a cycle is ideal. I was lucky enough to be sent this dress by Cath Kidston, which proved super practical when cycling around as well as blending in with Oxford's seasonal overflow of colour.

Harrods O'Clock

Harrods I'm Home
Taking a break from the shows to... Doormen in green and gold. Harrods looks good from the outside, doesn't it? Crowded department stores are not my area of expertise, so Harrods' new "I'm Home" campaign sounds like fun. The campaign was shot in-store, but after hours, with models treating the place as though it were their own luxury apartment. What does one do if Harrods is one's home for a night? I would sling a D&G bag over my shoulder and play power-grrl songs on the store music system the whole night long.

~

Back to School (with Orla)

Mmmkay so what's wrong with trying too hard ehh? Gotta love the occasional beehive and peter pan collar. Only 'occasional' because this blouse is 'occasional' - read, thin thin silk chiffon only suitable for special occasions. Side note: was that enough occasions in one sentence? - it sure feels like a party sentence to me. Right about this time of year I get that 'back to school feeling' (back to university now, wa wa second year how are you here alreadyyy) and it's such a fave. I just want to constantly wear pinafores with woolly tights, be super studious and purchase vast amounts of expensive stationery. In reality, only one of those things actually happens, but that's okay. I wish the entire Orla Kiely autumn collection as my uniform for this crucial period in my life, but let's start small: hiya notebook and box.

New term, new snow

Hilary

What better way to kick off the new term than a weekend-long illness? I know, just what you need to settle back in. Luckily though, I'm slowly recovering and have this gorgeous weather to make up for it. If the abundance of snow seems surprising, it's because it just happened. Nothing wrong with being too keen to share it with you all, right?

Another way of cheering myself up was going out and buying these high waisted corduroy trousers from Hobbs. Usually "retail therapy" doesn't work for me, but they were amazingly priced in the sale and great for this weather because they are so warm. Last season's NW3 collection has seriously impressed me, and now I'm a Hobbs girl through and through! Can't wait to show you my other NW3 piece, which I received for my birthday. Peter pan collars, stars...any guesses as to what I picked?

Hope that you all have your share of the snow, wherever you are!
